PsychAnswer4U MCAT Anki Deck: Free Download, 4,600 Cards, Review, and Complete Guide
PsychAnswer4U MCAT Anki Deck Free Download
The PsychAnswer4U MCAT Anki deck is one of the most detailed Psychology and Sociology flashcard resources ever created for the MCAT. The original creator describes the deck as containing nearly 4,600 cards from approximately 3,320 notes, all using cloze deletions, with hierarchical tags, extensive explanations, and supplemental resources included throughout the collection.

Original PsychAnswer4U MCAT Behavioral Sciences Deck Reddit Post
If you are trying to decide whether PsychAnswer4U, Mr. Pankow, MileDown, Aidan, JackSparrow, AnKing, or another deck makes the most sense for your MCAT study plan, I also have a larger guide comparing the major options.
Psychology and Sociology can be a frustrating MCAT section to prepare for because it initially looks much more straightforward than Chemistry/Physics or Biology/Biochemistry. You learn a long list of terms, finish your first few practice exams, and then suddenly discover another theory, sociologist, developmental concept, or research term that you have never seen before.
That experience is one reason extremely comprehensive P/S decks became popular. Instead of focusing only on a short list of commonly tested vocabulary, PsychAnswer4U tries to give students a much broader behavioral science foundation.
The tradeoff is obvious as soon as you see the card count. Nearly 4,600 cards devoted primarily to one MCAT section is a major commitment, especially when many complete MCAT decks contain fewer cards across all of the sciences combined.
I would not let that number scare you away immediately, though. One of the most important things the creator repeatedly explains is that the deck was never intended to force every student to study every card. It was deliberately built for someone who may have never taken an introductory psychology course, and the creator recommends suspending material you already understand and concentrating on the cards that expose genuine weaknesses.
That distinction changes how I think students should approach this deck. PsychAnswer4U works much better as a comprehensive library that you customize than as a 4,600-card checklist that you have to complete before test day.
What Is the PsychAnswer4U MCAT Anki Deck?
The PsychAnswer4U deck is a comprehensive MCAT Behavioral Sciences Anki deck created specifically for the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior section.
The deck did not begin as an MCAT resource. The creator had previously developed extensive AP Psychology and GRE Psychology Subject Test decks. After MCAT students began asking whether those decks could be used for P/S preparation, PsychAnswer4U edited the GRE Psychology material, removed content considered less relevant to the MCAT, and added missing sociology concepts to create a dedicated MCAT version.
That history explains why the deck feels different from many MCAT resources.
Instead of starting with a commercial MCAT review book and turning each chapter into flashcards, the deck begins with a much broader psychology foundation and then adapts that material to the MCAT. This gives it impressive depth, but it also means that some cards extend further into psychology than a shorter MCAT-specific deck would.
The creator supplemented the deck with information from multiple MCAT preparation resources, including Kaplan, The Berkeley Review, The Princeton Review, ExamKrackers, UWorld, and the Khan Academy 300-page Psychology and Sociology resource.
For students who constantly worry that their P/S deck is missing terms, that breadth is probably the biggest appeal of PsychAnswer4U.
Who Created the PsychAnswer4U Deck?
The deck was created by Reddit user u/PsychAnswer4U.
The creator explained that the project originally began with an AP Psychology deck in January 2019. That collection was finished several months later, expanded into a GRE Psychology Subject Test deck, and eventually modified again to create the MCAT Behavioral Sciences version.
By the time the MCAT deck was released, the creator had spent a little over a year developing and refining the broader collection of psychology cards.
That amount of work shows in the structure of the cards. The deck does not simply give you a term on one side and a definition on the other. Many cards include explanations, images, research references, additional context, and information intended to help you understand why the answer is correct.
The creator also continued responding to student questions after releasing the deck and used feedback to clarify individual cards and explanations.
How Many Cards Are in the PsychAnswer4U MCAT Deck?
According to the original creator post, the MCAT Behavioral Sciences deck contains nearly 4,600 cards generated from approximately 3,320 notes.
You may occasionally see slightly different numbers online. One later copy of the deck was described as containing 3,411 notes and 4,631 cards, so the exact total can vary depending on the revision or copy being distributed.
The important point is that this is a very large P/S deck.
For comparison, Mr. Pankow contains approximately 2,254 cards, while MileDown’s entire multi-subject MCAT deck contains roughly 2,900 cards. PsychAnswer4U therefore contains substantially more cards for behavioral science alone than some students complete during their entire MCAT Anki workflow.
That can be an advantage if you have enough time and want extensive coverage, but it can also become a problem if you approach the deck without a plan.
Why Does PsychAnswer4U Have So Many Cards?
The size is intentional.
PsychAnswer4U designed the deck partly for students who may have never taken an introductory psychology course. Rather than assuming that you already understand the basic vocabulary and theories, the creator breaks larger concepts into smaller pieces so you can identify exactly which part of a topic you do not know.
The creator gives Erikson’s stages as an example. Instead of having one giant flashcard that asks you to recite all eight psychosocial stages from beginning to end, the deck contains individual cards that test specific stages and relationships.
I like this philosophy because large free-recall cards can sometimes hide weaknesses. You might remember six out of eight stages and convince yourself that you basically knew the card. Smaller cloze cards make it easier to isolate the two stages you continually confuse.
The tradeoff is card volume. Breaking a single complex idea into several focused flashcards inevitably produces a much larger deck.
That is why I would not compare card counts without considering how each deck structures the information.
Does PsychAnswer4U Include Sociology?
Yes. Despite the creator’s username and the deck’s origins in AP and GRE psychology materials, the MCAT version includes sociology.
The creator specifically explains that missing sociology material was added when adapting the GRE Psychology deck into the MCAT Behavioral Sciences deck. Most of the sociology concepts are woven into sections covering Group Psychology and Demographics, rather than appearing as one completely separate sociology deck.
This organization occasionally causes confusion because students open the deck expecting to see one large folder labeled “Sociology.”
The content is there, but it is integrated with related behavioral science concepts.
That organization actually makes sense from an MCAT perspective because psychology and sociology are frequently tested together. Social behavior, group dynamics, demographics, culture, inequality, identity, and institutions overlap considerably within the P/S section.
How Is the PsychAnswer4U Deck Organized?
The deck uses hierarchical tags rather than relying entirely on separate Anki subdecks.
The creator organized the material according to major ideas within psychology. Students can browse those hierarchical tags to focus on an individual content area instead of studying the entire deck randomly.
If you prefer traditional subdecks, the creator explains that you can use those hierarchical headings to create your own subdeck structure. However, you do not have to reorganize everything manually. Using the tags themselves can accomplish the same goal.
This is particularly helpful with a deck this large.
If your practice exams show that sensation and perception are weak, you can focus there. If you already understand developmental psychology but continually miss research-method questions, you can concentrate on the research tags.
I would take advantage of that flexibility instead of treating all 4,600 cards as equally important.
What Topics Does PsychAnswer4U Cover?
The creator’s discussion shows just how broad the collection is. It includes traditional psychology and sociology topics, along with substantial overlap with MCAT biology and research methods.
The deck covers areas such as developmental psychology, abnormal psychology, psychological treatments, history and approaches, personality psychology, sensation and perception, group psychology, demographics, neuroanatomy, endocrinology, sensory systems, research methods, statistics, epidemiology, stress, immunology, and selected genetics concepts.
This breadth is another reason the card count should not be interpreted as 4,600 completely separate P/S facts.
The creator estimates that roughly 1,000 cards could reasonably fit within Biology as well as Psychology, particularly material involving neuroanatomy, endocrine hormones, sensory organs, development, and other physiological concepts.
If you are using another comprehensive MCAT deck at the same time, you may already know a significant portion of that material.
Those are excellent cards to suspend rather than review redundantly.
Does PsychAnswer4U Include Biology?
Yes, although it is still primarily a behavioral sciences deck.
The creator states that the dedicated Biology section contains 518 cards and considered those cards largely high yield. The broader collection also contains additional biology-related material spread through developmental psychology and other sections.
Topics include neuroanatomy, endocrine hormones, sensory organs, physiological testing methods, developmental biology, selected genetics concepts, and some immunology.
This overlap can actually be useful because the MCAT P/S section is not completely isolated from biology. The “Biological” portion of Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations matters, and questions can require you to connect behavior with nervous-system structures, hormones, development, or physiological responses.
However, I would not use PsychAnswer4U as your primary Biology/Biochemistry deck.
Think of those cards as useful reinforcement rather than a replacement for a comprehensive B/B resource.
Does PsychAnswer4U Include Low-Yield Material?
Yes, and the creator is very open about that.
PsychAnswer4U intentionally includes some material beyond what a shorter MCAT review deck would consider essential. The creator’s reasoning was that introductory psychology concepts could potentially appear on the MCAT, and broader exposure might help students handle unfamiliar questions.
That does not mean every section deserves equal attention.
The creator specifically identifies the History and Approaches section as one of the lowest-yield portions of the deck. It contains roughly 388 cards and includes many important historical figures and psychological schools of thought. Students who already understand those topics can skip or suspend much of the section.
The creator also identifies some pharmacology and treatment cards as relatively low yield and notes that certain unusual perception topics can be safely suspended if they do not fit your needs.
This is exactly how I would use the deck.
Do not let Anki convince you that a card deserves an hour of your attention simply because someone included it in a premade deck.
Should You Complete All 4,600 PsychAnswer4U Cards?
I would not approach the deck with that expectation.
When another Reddit user expressed concern about the size, PsychAnswer4U explained that 4,600 cards at 50 new cards per day would take approximately 92 days just to introduce once. More importantly, the creator emphasized that many students would not need all 4,600 cards and should tailor the collection to their own learning needs.
That is probably the single most important instruction in the creator’s entire post.
If you already understand basic conditioning, do not spend weeks proving to Anki that you understand conditioning.
If your sociology foundation is strong, move faster through those cards.
If you have never taken psychology and theories of development all blur together, spend more time there.
A huge deck becomes much less overwhelming when you stop thinking of it as a requirement and begin thinking of it as a library.
How Many PsychAnswer4U Cards Should You Study Each Day?
The creator used 50 new cards per day as an example when discussing a roughly three-month timeline. That pace would introduce approximately 4,600 cards over 92 days, although it would not mean that every card was fully matured during that period.
I would treat 50 as an example rather than a universal recommendation.
If you are using PsychAnswer4U as your primary P/S deck and have several months available, somewhere around 30 to 50 new cards per day may be manageable depending on how quickly you review them.
If you are already completing a large comprehensive deck such as Aidan V2, Captain Hook, AnKing, or JackSparrow, adding 50 additional behavioral science cards every day can become overwhelming very quickly.
Always look at your total daily Anki workload rather than considering one deck in isolation.
When scheduled reviews begin consuming time that you need for UWorld, full-length exams, or AAMC questions, reduce your new-card limit.
Can PsychAnswer4U Be Your Main P/S Content Review Resource?
The creator believes that it can.
When asked whether the deck could serve as the primary resource for the P/S section, PsychAnswer4U explained that students could likely learn enough from the cards to do well, although reading a review book beforehand could provide useful context. Many cards also contain supplemental explanations and references for students who want to investigate a concept more deeply.
I would personally still pair it with a written or video resource, especially if psychology and sociology are new to you.
Anki is great at asking, “What is this term?”
A written resource is often better at explaining how four similar theories fit together, why they differ, and what type of passage would make one theory more relevant than another.
That is why I like pairing P/S flashcards with the Khan Academy documents.
PsychAnswer4U and the 300-Page Khan Academy Psych/Soc Document
If you are starting P/S early and want a very comprehensive combination, PsychAnswer4U plus the 300-page Khan Academy document would give you an enormous amount of behavioral science coverage.
The creator specifically used the Khan Academy 300-page resource alongside commercial MCAT materials when framing the deck.
I would not try to read all 300 pages and then begin 4,600 cards afterward.
Instead, divide the material into sections. Read a manageable portion of the document, then use the relevant PsychAnswer4U tags to reinforce what you just learned.
The written explanation gives you context. The flashcards give you repeated retrieval practice.
You can download both Khan Academy P/S documents through my guide here:
PsychAnswer4U and the 86-Page Psych/Soc Document
The 86-page document can work well if you want a faster overview and plan to let your Anki deck provide much of the additional detail.
PsychAnswer4U is already extremely comprehensive, so pairing it with another enormous written resource is not mandatory.
A student with limited time could use the 86-page document to understand the larger framework and then rely on selected PsychAnswer4U cards for deeper review.
Another approach is to use a more detailed document early and the 86-page version as a final refresher closer to your test date.
That is similar to how I personally approached P/S. I initially used MileDown alongside the 300-page Khan Academy document for a broad overview, then used the 86-page document for a quicker summary roughly two weeks before my MCAT. I did not personally use PsychAnswer4U, but looking through this deck now, I can understand why students with a longer timeline and a desire for deeper behavioral science coverage are attracted to it.
My Experience With MCAT Psych/Soc Anki
I want to separate my personal experience from my assessment of this deck because I did not use PsychAnswer4U during my own MCAT preparation.
For P/S, I personally used MileDown Anki together with the 300-page Khan Academy document earlier in my studying. I liked having a written resource that explained the concepts while MileDown gave me a relatively concise set of cards to review repeatedly.
About two weeks before the exam, I switched to the 86-page Khan Academy document for a faster final review.
You can find both resources here:
Looking at PsychAnswer4U now, I see it filling a very different role from MileDown. MileDown is manageable and broad. PsychAnswer4U is intentionally deep.
If I had several months and felt that behavioral science terminology was one of my biggest weaknesses, I would seriously consider PsychAnswer4U.
If I had a shorter timeline and was already performing well in P/S, I would probably choose a smaller deck and spend more time on passage practice.
Three YouTube Videos That Can Help You Use PsychAnswer4U Correctly
There are not many tutorials made specifically for the PsychAnswer4U deck, so I would focus on learning how to manage a large tagged Anki deck correctly. PsychAnswer4U uses standard Anki features such as cloze cards, hierarchical tags, suspension, and custom review, so you do not need a deck-specific program or workflow.
The first video I recommend is Anatomy Alchemist’s “How I Used Anki To Get A 520 On The MCAT.” It walks through MCAT Anki setup, importing premade decks, card settings, and how Anki fits into an overall MCAT study plan.
The second is The AnKing’s “How to Use Anki for the MCAT.” The interface has evolved since the video was originally released, but the larger ideas about using premade decks, unsuspending cards as you learn content, and combining flashcards with practice are still helpful.
The third is The AnKing’s updated Anki settings and FSRS guide. With a deck containing thousands of P/S cards, understanding how Anki schedules your reviews can prevent you from accidentally creating an overwhelming workload.
I would learn the basics, import the deck, and then start studying. It is very easy to spend several days perfecting Anki settings when the real benefit comes from consistently reviewing the cards.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Mr. Pankow
This is probably the most important comparison.
Both decks focus heavily on Psychology and Sociology, both use cloze deletions, and both are designed to provide much more behavioral science coverage than a general high-yield deck.
The biggest difference is size and philosophy.
Mr. Pankow contains approximately 2,254 cards, while PsychAnswer4U contains nearly 4,600. My existing Mr. Pankow guide describes Pankow as a dedicated P/S resource covering the major AAMC topics.
PsychAnswer4U goes considerably deeper and includes more material from introductory psychology, biology overlap, research methods, historical figures, and lower-frequency topics.
If you want efficiency, I would lean toward Mr. Pankow.
If you want maximum behavioral science depth and have enough time to manage nearly twice as many cards, PsychAnswer4U becomes more appealing.
I would not complete both decks from beginning to end. There will be extensive overlap, and the additional time would probably be better spent practicing passages.
Read my Mr. Pankow guide here:
PsychAnswer4U vs. MileDown
These decks serve very different students.
MileDown contains about 2,900 cards across the entire MCAT, while PsychAnswer4U contains nearly 4,600 cards focused primarily on behavioral science. MileDown emphasizes concise cloze cards, visual formatting, and links to outside explanations.
MileDown is the better choice if you want one manageable deck covering Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Organic Chemistry, equations, and P/S.
PsychAnswer4U is the better choice if you specifically want to go much deeper into Psychology and Sociology.
A very reasonable workflow would be to use MileDown for the full MCAT but replace or supplement its Behavioral section with PsychAnswer4U cards in your weakest P/S topics.
You do not need to duplicate every basic behavioral science concept.
I personally used MileDown for P/S and liked the manageable workload, but PsychAnswer4U provides much more depth than I had from MileDown alone.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Premed95
Premed95 is one of the older classic MCAT Psychology and Sociology decks and played an important role in the development of later P/S resources.
Community comparisons historically placed Premed95 on the more concise end, followed by Cubene and JackSparrow, while PsychAnswer4U was repeatedly described as the more comprehensive behavioral sciences option.
If you have a shorter timeline and primarily want a straightforward Khan Academy-based review, Premed95 may still be useful.
If you are starting earlier and want significantly broader coverage, PsychAnswer4U offers much more material.
I would personally choose one rather than completing both.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Cubene
Cubene is another classic P/S deck built around the Khan Academy behavioral science material.
Students have historically described Cubene as a useful compromise between a short deck and an extremely detailed collection. Community comparisons often place it above Premed95 in depth but below PsychAnswer4U in overall comprehensiveness.
PsychAnswer4U makes more sense if you actively want a very large behavioral science resource.
Cubene may make more sense if you want stronger coverage than a very concise deck without committing to 4,600 cards.
If you already use one successfully, I would not restart solely because another deck has more cards.
PsychAnswer4U vs. JackSparrow
JackSparrow is a complete MCAT deck rather than a dedicated P/S deck, and its flashcard style differs substantially.
JackSparrow generally uses traditional front-and-back cards requiring broader free recall, while PsychAnswer4U uses cloze deletions that break information into smaller pieces.
A community comparison of older P/S resources described JackSparrow as building on earlier Khan Academy-based P/S decks, while PsychAnswer4U was singled out as an especially comprehensive dedicated behavioral science collection.
If you already use JackSparrow for the entire MCAT, I would first see how you perform in P/S before adding another 4,600 cards.
PsychAnswer4U becomes useful as a supplement when behavioral science remains a clear weakness.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Aidan V2
Aidan V2 is a comprehensive full-MCAT deck with an extensive Psychology and Sociology section, while PsychAnswer4U is a specialized behavioral sciences resource.
If you are already working through Aidan V2, I would not automatically add PsychAnswer4U.
Aidan’s major advantage is that you can keep Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Physics, Organic Chemistry, Psychology, and Sociology inside one large study system.
PsychAnswer4U’s advantage is specialization. The creator spent years developing psychology materials, and the MCAT deck contains unusually detailed behavioral science explanations and terminology.
If you are using Aidan V2 and consistently scoring well in P/S, stay with Aidan.
If P/S is still your weakest section and you want an even larger searchable source of behavioral science cards, PsychAnswer4U can be used selectively.
PsychAnswer4U vs. the Original Aidan Deck
The same general principle applies to the original Aidan deck.
Aidan was designed as an extremely comprehensive full MCAT collection, while PsychAnswer4U devotes almost its entire attention to behavioral sciences.
The original Aidan is useful if you want one massive resource covering essentially every science subject.
PsychAnswer4U is more attractive when your specific goal is deeper Psychology and Sociology review.
Because both are large resources, I would avoid running the complete P/S sections of both simultaneously.
Use your practice scores to decide whether you actually need another behavioral science deck.
PsychAnswer4U vs. AnKing
The modern AnKing MCAT deck is a collaborative composite resource built from major community decks including MileDown, Abdullah, Coffin, and Mr. Pankow, with continuing updates through AnkiHub.
That makes AnKing a much more convenient choice for students who want one primary deck.
PsychAnswer4U is more specialized and older, but it also contains an enormous amount of behavioral science detail.
If you want one modern deck covering the whole MCAT, AnKing is more practical.
If you already have a general science deck and want a dedicated deep P/S supplement, PsychAnswer4U makes more sense.
I would not leave a functioning AnKing workflow simply because PsychAnswer4U has more behavioral science cards.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Bouras
This comparison is especially interesting because Bouras actually incorporates PsychAnswer4U material.
Jack Westin describes the Bouras deck as containing 1,018 behavioral science cards from PsychAnswer4U, along with material from MileDown, Ortho528, JackSparrow, and other resources.
That means you may already encounter part of PsychAnswer4U if you use Bouras.
If Bouras is your primary full-MCAT deck, I would not automatically import the complete PsychAnswer4U collection on top of it.
Instead, use the full PsychAnswer4U deck when you identify missing behavioral science topics or want additional cards in a weak area.
If you only need P/S and do not want Bouras’s enormous multi-subject collection, PsychAnswer4U is the more focused option.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Abdullah
Abdullah is another important comparison because its composite deck also includes material from Psych4U, alongside Ortho528, Cubene, MileDown, and other resources.
Abdullah therefore already gives you exposure to PsychAnswer4U-derived content while providing a much larger full-MCAT system.
If you use Abdullah as your primary deck, I would not begin all 4,600 PsychAnswer4U cards without a clear reason.
Use PsychAnswer4U selectively if you discover P/S gaps.
If you only need behavioral sciences, downloading the dedicated PsychAnswer4U deck is much simpler than adopting a 16,000-card comprehensive collection.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Ortho528
Ortho528 is a classic comprehensive MCAT deck containing roughly 4,300-plus cards across the science and behavioral sections. It relies heavily on cloze cards and tagging and draws from resources such as ExamKrackers, Princeton Review, and Khan Academy.
PsychAnswer4U contains approximately the same number of cards while focusing primarily on behavioral science.
That difference tells you almost everything about the level of detail.
Choose Ortho528 if you want one classic deck that distributes its cards across multiple MCAT subjects.
Choose PsychAnswer4U if you already have your other subjects covered and specifically want to deepen P/S.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Captain Hook V2
Captain Hook V2 is built from JackSparrow and combines comprehensive science review with Mr. Pankow for Psychology and Sociology.
That makes Captain Hook a convenient all-in-one option for students who enjoy traditional front-and-back cards for the sciences but still want a strong dedicated behavioral science component.
PsychAnswer4U goes further into behavioral science than you probably need if Captain Hook’s included P/S material is already working for you.
I would choose Captain Hook when I want one comprehensive deck across the MCAT.
I would choose PsychAnswer4U when I specifically want one of the deepest standalone P/S collections available.
There is little reason to complete both full behavioral science sections unless your preparation timeline is unusually long.
PsychAnswer4U vs. Coffin V2
Coffin V2 is based on the MileDown foundation and focuses on improving organization and adding supplementary content while preserving a more manageable card style.
Its behavioral science coverage is part of a larger general MCAT review system.
PsychAnswer4U is far more specialized and detailed in P/S.
If you like MileDown-style efficiency and want a balanced deck across subjects, Coffin V2 is likely the better primary option.
If behavioral science is your biggest content weakness and you want much deeper exposure, PsychAnswer4U can supplement that system.
PsychAnswer4U vs. BenzKing
BenzKing is useful for students who want their cards organized around Kaplan chapters.
That organization makes it easier to move through content review in a predictable sequence.
PsychAnswer4U is organized according to psychology’s major conceptual areas rather than the Kaplan chapter structure, and it only focuses on behavioral science.
If you want a Kaplan-centered full-MCAT workflow, BenzKing is more convenient.
If you want a specialized P/S deck with extensive psychology explanations, PsychAnswer4U has the advantage.
PsychAnswer4U vs. NextLevelColors
NextLevelColors is another large full-MCAT deck that works well for students following Kaplan content review.
The cards can provide more explanation than a very concise deck, but the collection distributes its attention across all of the content-heavy MCAT sections.
PsychAnswer4U concentrates far more detail into behavioral science.
I would use NextLevelColors when I want one primary content deck.
I would use PsychAnswer4U when I already have another strategy for C/P and B/B and want a specialized P/S resource.
PsychAnswer4U vs. ReBopBeBop
ReBopBeBop is a classic Kaplan-based deck using more traditional question-and-answer cards.
PsychAnswer4U uses cloze deletions and breaks complex topics into smaller individual prompts.
If you learn well by answering broad questions from memory, ReBopBeBop may feel more natural.
If you prefer focused cloze cards that isolate individual misconceptions, PsychAnswer4U’s style is one of its strongest features.
Again, ReBopBeBop is a full content deck, while PsychAnswer4U is primarily a P/S specialist.
PsychAnswer4U vs. MCAT for Victory
MCAT for Victory takes a more structured course-like approach to flashcard learning.
PsychAnswer4U gives you substantially more freedom and much more behavioral science depth, but that flexibility means you have to decide which cards to study and which cards to suspend.
If you want a guided system that reduces decision-making, MCAT for Victory may feel easier.
If you want to customize a very deep behavioral science library around your own weaknesses, PsychAnswer4U is the more powerful option.
Is PsychAnswer4U the Most Comprehensive MCAT Psych/Soc Deck?
Historically, PsychAnswer4U has repeatedly been described in MCAT community discussions as one of, and often the, most comprehensive dedicated behavioral science decks available.
That description makes sense when you look at the card count, sources, and creator’s stated philosophy.
However, “most comprehensive” should not automatically be translated into “best for everyone.”
A 4,600-card P/S deck can be fantastic for a student who starts six months before the MCAT and has little psychology background.
The exact same deck can be a terrible use of time for a student testing in four weeks who already scores 130 in P/S.
The resource has to fit the problem you are trying to solve.
Who Should Use PsychAnswer4U?
I think PsychAnswer4U makes the most sense for students with a relatively long MCAT timeline who want very broad Psychology and Sociology exposure.
It is especially appealing if you have never taken psychology, if P/S terminology consistently surprises you on practice exams, if you prefer cloze-deletion cards, or if you want explanations and supplemental resources built into your flashcards.
It may be less appropriate if your exam is approaching quickly, if you already perform very well in P/S, or if you are currently drowning in thousands of reviews from another large deck.
Do not add PsychAnswer4U simply because someone describes it as comprehensive.
Add it when that comprehensiveness solves a problem you actually have.
How I Would Use PsychAnswer4U
If I were starting the deck several months before my MCAT, I would first decide what written content source I wanted to pair with it.
For someone new to psychology, I would probably begin with the 300-page Khan Academy document or another detailed behavioral science review source.
I would read one manageable topic at a time and then use PsychAnswer4U’s hierarchical tags to study the corresponding cards.
As I moved into UWorld and practice exams, I would begin suspending cards I clearly knew and prioritizing concepts that continued to cause mistakes.
If I encountered an unfamiliar term during practice, I would search the PsychAnswer4U browser before immediately making a new card. There is a good chance the concept is already somewhere in the collection.
Closer to test day, I would stop adding large numbers of new low-yield cards and focus on maintaining what I had learned, reviewing my mistakes, and working through official practice.
How to Use PsychAnswer4U With UWorld
PsychAnswer4U can help you build vocabulary and behavioral science knowledge, but UWorld teaches you how those concepts appear inside passages.
After learning a P/S topic, complete questions that require you to recognize the concept in context.
When you miss one, ask yourself whether you lacked the term or misunderstood how it applied.
If you did not know the concept, search PsychAnswer4U and flag the relevant cards.
If you knew the definition but chose the wrong answer because you misread the experiment, another five flashcards probably will not solve the problem.
You need to practice interpreting passages.
This distinction becomes increasingly important as your exam approaches.
Does PsychAnswer4U Have Good Explanations?
One of the strongest features of the deck is the amount of supplemental information attached to the cards.
The creator states that explanations and additional resources appear on almost every card to clarify both the knowledge and reasoning required to answer correctly.
Many cards also include references that students can consult when they want more information.
I like this because cloze cards can become too shallow when they only show a sentence and hide one word.
The Extra field gives you a chance to understand the broader idea instead of simply memorizing what word belongs in the blank.
Use those explanations when you genuinely do not understand a card rather than racing through your review counter.
Does PsychAnswer4U Use Cloze Deletion Cards?
Yes. The creator states that all of the cards use the cloze deletion format.
This means you will usually see a sentence or explanation with one or more pieces of information hidden.
Cloze cards can make a large deck much faster to review than traditional free-recall cards.
The downside is that the surrounding sentence can sometimes give you enough context to guess the answer.
When that happens, take another few seconds and explain the concept beyond the blank.
The goal is not to become good at recognizing the wording of PsychAnswer4U’s cards. The goal is to recognize the concept when the AAMC gives you completely different wording.
PsychAnswer4U LaTeX Errors and How to Fix Them
Some cards use LaTeX for equations or mathematical formatting.
The original creator warns that students without LaTeX installed on their computer may see an error when those cards appear. The creator provided several solutions, including installing LaTeX, rewriting the equations using Anki-supported MathJax, or manually converting the equations into normal text.
The issue mainly affects cards containing mathematical expressions rather than the majority of standard psychology terminology.
The creator also reported that mobile versions generally displayed the generated equations properly once the relevant content had been processed through desktop Anki.
If you only encounter a handful of broken equation cards, I would fix those individually rather than letting a technical problem derail your entire deck.
How to Download and Import PsychAnswer4U
Begin by downloading the deck from the Google Drive link at the top of this article.
Once the file finishes downloading, open the official Anki desktop application and import the .apkg file.
Because the deck contains several thousand cards and substantial media, the import may take longer than a small shared deck.
After importing, open the Anki browser and make sure you can see the hierarchical tags. Browse several sections before beginning your reviews so you understand how the deck is organized.
I would also back up your current Anki collection before importing the deck if you already use Bouras, Abdullah, or another resource that contains PsychAnswer4U-derived cards.
Duplicate material can create unnecessary reviews.
Common Mistakes When Using PsychAnswer4U
The biggest mistake is treating 4,600 cards as 4,600 requirements.
That is not how the creator intended you to use the resource.
Another common mistake is refusing to suspend easy cards. If you already know something instantly every time, continuing to review several versions of the same fact provides very little return.
Students can also spend too much time memorizing lower-yield history, medications, or specialty psychology details while neglecting passage practice.
Another problem is combining PsychAnswer4U with Mr. Pankow, Aidan, AnKing, and MileDown all at once. Each deck looks useful when viewed individually, but the combined review burden can become enormous.
Choose one primary P/S system and supplement intentionally.
Finally, do not memorize cards you do not understand. Read the explanations, return to the 300-page document, watch a Khan Academy video, or find another explanation until the concept makes sense.
My Recommended PsychAnswer4U Study Workflow
If I had a long timeline and wanted to use PsychAnswer4U as my main P/S deck, I would start with a written behavioral science resource and progress through both together.
During the first phase, I would read the relevant section and then study the matching cards through hierarchical tags.
I would suspend concepts that were obviously too easy and avoid becoming attached to completing 100% of the collection.
Once I started UWorld, I would use my missed questions to determine which PsychAnswer4U sections deserved more attention.
As I began taking full-length exams, I would shift my focus away from simply acquiring new terms and toward distinguishing similar concepts, interpreting experiments, and understanding why one answer choice fits a passage better than another.
During the final weeks, I would stop introducing large quantities of obscure new information. I would maintain my established reviews, revisit my weakest topics, use a concise P/S summary such as the 86-page document, and prioritize AAMC practice.
The goal is to arrive on test day with a large working vocabulary without allowing flashcards to crowd out the reasoning skills the section still requires.

Frequently Asked Questions About the PsychAnswer4U MCAT Deck
What is the PsychAnswer4U MCAT Anki deck?
PsychAnswer4U is a comprehensive Anki deck designed for the MCAT Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior section. It contains Psychology, Sociology, behavioral biology, and research-method content.
Who created PsychAnswer4U?
The deck was created by Reddit user u/PsychAnswer4U, who had previously created AP Psychology and GRE Psychology Subject Test Anki decks before adapting the material for MCAT students.
How many cards are in PsychAnswer4U?
The creator’s original post lists nearly 4,600 cards generated from approximately 3,320 notes. Different circulated versions may show slightly different totals.
Is PsychAnswer4U free?
Yes. The deck has historically been shared freely with MCAT students, and the download linked in this guide is free.
Does PsychAnswer4U cover sociology?
Yes. Sociology material was specifically added when the creator converted the GRE Psychology deck into a complete MCAT Behavioral Sciences deck. Many sociology concepts are integrated into Group Psychology and Demographics sections.
Is PsychAnswer4U only Psychology?
No. Despite its name and psychology-heavy origin, the MCAT deck contains both psychology and sociology concepts.
Does PsychAnswer4U cover biology?
Yes. The creator includes substantial biology overlap, especially neuroanatomy, endocrine physiology, sensory systems, development, selected genetics, and immunology. The dedicated Biology section contains 518 cards.
Is PsychAnswer4U the most comprehensive P/S deck?
It has historically been described by MCAT community members as one of the most comprehensive dedicated behavioral science decks available. Its nearly 4,600-card size supports that reputation, although more comprehensive does not necessarily mean better for every student.
Is PsychAnswer4U better than Mr. Pankow?
PsychAnswer4U is considerably larger and more detailed. Mr. Pankow is more manageable and remains a strong dedicated P/S option. Students with long timelines who want maximum depth may prefer PsychAnswer4U, while students prioritizing efficiency may prefer Pankow.
Is PsychAnswer4U better than MileDown for P/S?
PsychAnswer4U provides much deeper behavioral science coverage. MileDown is considerably shorter and may be more appropriate for students who want a manageable full-MCAT deck.
Is PsychAnswer4U better than Aidan V2 for P/S?
Both offer extensive behavioral science coverage. PsychAnswer4U is a dedicated P/S resource, while Aidan V2 integrates P/S into a much larger comprehensive MCAT deck. If you already use Aidan successfully, you probably do not need the entire PsychAnswer4U deck as well.
Is PsychAnswer4U better than Premed95?
PsychAnswer4U is substantially more comprehensive. Premed95 may still work for students seeking a shorter classic Khan Academy-based resource.
Is PsychAnswer4U better than Cubene?
PsychAnswer4U generally provides broader behavioral science coverage. Cubene can offer a more manageable middle ground for students who do not want nearly 4,600 P/S cards.
Is PsychAnswer4U included in Bouras?
Part of it is. Published descriptions of the Bouras deck state that it includes approximately 1,018 PsychAnswer4U behavioral science cards.
Is PsychAnswer4U included in Abdullah?
Abdullah is a composite deck that incorporates Psych4U material alongside several other community decks.
Should I use PsychAnswer4U and Mr. Pankow together?
I would generally choose one as your primary P/S deck. Completing both in full would create substantial overlap and a large review burden.
Should I use PsychAnswer4U and MileDown together?
You can use MileDown as a general MCAT deck and selectively replace or supplement its P/S cards with PsychAnswer4U. I would not review every overlapping behavioral science card from both collections.
Should I use PsychAnswer4U and Aidan V2 together?
Only selectively. Both can provide extensive behavioral science coverage, and completing both P/S sections would probably be unnecessary for most students.
Should I use PsychAnswer4U and AnKing together?
AnKing can serve as your general MCAT deck while PsychAnswer4U is used for specific P/S weaknesses. You do not automatically need every behavioral science card from both.
Does PsychAnswer4U use cloze deletion?
Yes. The creator states that all cards use the cloze-deletion format.
Does PsychAnswer4U use hierarchical tags?
Yes. The collection is organized through hierarchical tags based on major psychology topic areas.
Can I turn the tags into subdecks?
Yes. The creator explains that students can use the hierarchical headings to create individual subdecks if they prefer that structure.
Does PsychAnswer4U contain low-yield information?
Yes. Some historical figures, treatment details, pharmaceutical information, perception topics, and other advanced concepts extend beyond what most students would consider core MCAT material. The creator specifically recommends tailoring the deck and suspending cards you do not need.
Should I complete all 4,600 cards?
Probably not unless you truly need them and have enough time. Even the creator emphasizes customizing the deck and suspending material you already know.
How many PsychAnswer4U cards should I do each day?
The creator once used 50 new cards per day as an example, which would take about 92 days to introduce roughly 4,600 cards once. Your actual number should depend on your timeline and total daily review workload.
Can PsychAnswer4U be my only P/S resource?
The creator believed the deck could potentially serve as a primary behavioral science resource because of its breadth and extensive explanations, although reading a textbook or review document first may make the concepts easier to understand.
Should I pair PsychAnswer4U with the 300-page document?
That can be an excellent comprehensive combination if you have enough time. Use the document for context and the deck for active recall instead of trying to complete both resources independently.
Can I pair PsychAnswer4U with the 86-page document?
Yes. The 86-page document can provide a faster overview while PsychAnswer4U supplies additional detail.
Does PsychAnswer4U contain research methods?
Yes. The creator included hundreds of cards involving research design, statistics, epidemiology, ethics, and related concepts.
Does PsychAnswer4U include abnormal psychology?
Yes. The collection contains extensive abnormal psychology and treatment material, including some information the creator acknowledges is lower yield for the MCAT.
Does PsychAnswer4U include neuroanatomy?
Yes. Neuroanatomy and related biological psychology material are a significant part of the deck.
Why am I getting LaTeX errors?
Some cards use LaTeX for mathematical notation. The creator suggests installing LaTeX, converting the formatting to MathJax, or manually rewriting the small number of affected equations.
Is PsychAnswer4U still worth using?
Yes, for the right student. The deck is older, but the fundamental psychology and sociology concepts it teaches remain relevant. Its biggest question is not age but whether its level of detail matches your timeline.
How long does PsychAnswer4U take to complete?
Introducing all of the cards at 50 new cards per day would take roughly three months, and maturing them would take longer. Many students should selectively suspend cards rather than attempt the complete collection.
Should I start PsychAnswer4U one month before my MCAT?
I would probably not try to complete the whole deck that late. Use it selectively to target weak P/S topics and unfamiliar terms instead.
Is three months enough for PsychAnswer4U?
Three months can be enough to introduce a large portion of the deck if P/S is a major priority, but the daily review burden may become substantial. Customization is important.
Is six months enough for PsychAnswer4U?
Six months gives you much more flexibility to move gradually through the collection while maintaining time for practice questions and full-length exams.
Does PsychAnswer4U cover CARS, Chemistry, or Physics?
No. It is primarily a behavioral science deck with some biology overlap. You will need separate resources for the other MCAT sections.
Is PsychAnswer4U enough for the entire MCAT?
No. It is a P/S-focused resource. You still need Chemistry/Physics, Biology/Biochemistry, CARS, practice questions, and full-length exams.
