If you’re a premed looking to study for the MCAT, the Anking MCAT deck is probably the best maintained and most efficient method of learning content. It was curated from the most highly esteemed MCAT anki decks on the internet. I’ll explain what the anking MCAT Anki deck is, how to download it, and what Ankihub is. Let’s get started!
Before we get started: If you haven’t heard of Anki or don’t know anything about how what it is, how great it is for studying, and how you can use it both for MCAT and for medical school, check out my write up here.
What is the Anking MCAT Anki Deck?

Anking is a website created by former medical students who have created giant conglomerate anki decks over the past years. They essentially take the most important information from the anki decks other people have made, and then make an “Anking” deck.
They themselves usually don’t create the original cards, but they update them, add pictures and explanations, and then organize them in an easy to study manner.
What Anki decks are in the Anking MCAT Anki Deck?
The Anking MCAT deck is a new one that they’ve created specifically for MCAT study. It contains the following decks that folks made in the past:
- Miledown (to download the miledown deck without Anking, click here)
- Mr. Pankow psychology and sociology (to download the Mr. Pankow deck without Anking, click here)
- Abdullah
- Coffin
The authors continue to update these cards and by using their deck, you’ll ensure it constantly meets the MCAT material demands and also have less errors. The website claims that they update their cards weekly which is, on my opinion, very often.
How is the Anking MCAT Anki Deck Organized?

The deck is organized by anki “tags” based on your study resource. You can sort by Kaplan, Pixorize, and Khan academy to ensure that the content you’re learning from those organizations is what you’re learning on Anki. The older decks prior to Anking sometimes had this feature, but most did not. This is a huge benefit because you can watch a Khan Academy video on X subject, unsuspend just the X subject cards tailored to that video, and then study them.
Does Anking’s MCAT Anki Deck work with UWorld?

Yes, the deck actually has an add on that allows you to search your anki deck for content relating to the specific UWorld question you’ve answered. Each UWorld question has a QID specific to that question. When you enter this QID into the search, the anki deck returns cards covering that specific topic for you to unsuspend.
How much money is Anking’s MCAT Anki Deck?
The Anking website allows for subscription services to this deck, so you really never own it. However, the fee is very little. You have three options:
You can purchase a monthly subscription which is $6 per month. You can also sign up for a 12 month subscription which is $66 for the year. This is roughly saving you 1 month’s subscription fee. Lastly, you can buy the lifetime subscription which is a one time $450 fee.
Honestly, I’d just buy the 1 year version because the $450 would take 6.8 years of one year subscriptions to be worth it. The only upside is you protect yourself from future price increases which are probably inevitable!

Are the Jacksparrow or Aidan MCAT Anki decks included in Anking?
If you are looking for the JackSparrow MCAT Anki deck or the Aidan psychology/sociology MCAT Anki decks, they are not included in Anking. However, you can find the download file and a description of each here:
